Project 2: Pre Work

Color Wheel
Tone and Mood
In this picture, Nickie Brook uses the lights from the pumpkins and the orange leaves all around them to make the picture feel warm and bright to juxtapose Halloweens dark and scary reputation. The orange makes the picture feel warm and I think that se used editing to make the picture have a slight orange tint and she also brought up the lights and brought the shadows down.

Project 1: Framing and Composition

For this project, we took a class field trip to Director Park. I decided to tackle each of the framing techniques as I came across new subjects. I tried to emphasize my subjects and take pictures that were clear and easy to look at. I had a hard time with rule of thirds and frame within a frame because I didn't like any of the pictures I took that followed those framing techniques. My favorite framing technique was the close ups. These photos gave me a very clear subject and allowed me to experiment with angles, lighting, and framing styles. My favorite photo is the edit that I decided to choose for my final close up. It was a picture of an exit sign. I had a lot of fun editing it because I got to try the brush tool for the first time. It was fun to experiment with new editing techniques. Bringing the shadows down and the contrast up made the red of the exit sign pop and that is why I really like the photo. I have decided that I really like this framing technique and editing style. For the other seven photos, I chose them because I made little adjustments to make the picture more interesting and they were the best of the group.
